To keep an oven clean, sprinkle salt or baking soda on spills while they are warm. When the oven is cool enough, wipe them up. Place a large pan of boiling water on the bottom rack. Close the door, and let stand overnight. The next day, wipe off the loosened grime with paper towels or newspapers. Sometimes even your dishwasher needs to be cleaned. The first sign of buildup is a film left on the glasses and plates. An easy way to clean your machine is to fill a bowl with one cup liquid bleach and put it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Run the dishwasher on a setting that excludes the "dry" cycle. Open the machine and fill the bowl with one cup of white vinegar. Run the dishwasher through a full cycle. Repeat if necessary.
